Typically, we ask that clients send us an "Accountant's Copy" of their QuickBooks data. However, Mac users need to follow a slightly different process.
The following walkthrough is done in QuickBooks Pro 6. The process will be similar for all recent QuickBooks versions but some of the wording may be slightly different.
Step 1:
From the file menu select Create a File for QuickBooks Windows...

Step 2:
Save the new file to your desktop by selecting Desktop on the left side of the window and then naming the file something appropriate. Click the Save button when done.

At this point you need to decide how you would like to get your file into our hands. As of right now Email is the most convenient but burning a CD is a good second choice if there are problems sending large files on with your Email provider.
Sending Via Email:
Open up Apple's Mail.app and start a new message. Address it to the appropriate staff accountant and make sure that it will be clear who the file is from. Next click on the Attach button that is highlighted below.

Now, select the file you just created, in this case its the only choice on my desktop Famiglio Walkthrough.QBB. Make sure Send Windows Friendly Attachments is checked. Choose the file and move on.

*Process Complete! Remember though Email is not 100% reliable when sending large files. Please confirm with your staff accountant that the file has been received.
Burning your file to a CD:
Insert a blank writable CD in your computer, and it should pop up on your desktop. Drag the QuickBooks file you just created and drop it on top of the CD icon as shown in the image below.

Select the CD icon, once you have it selected you will notice that the Trash on the Dock turns into a radioactive icon--drop the CD into it!

And up comes the dialog box below. If you would like to name the CD do so now. It may also be benificial to select the more reliable burning method under the Burn Speed toggle. Select Burn.

Now just wait for the process to complete!
